Children's Festival

 Children's Festival

This is a reminder that we will be going to the Children’s Festival Monday June the 2nd from 9:00am until 3:30 pm.  Dismissal will be at the school.   We ask that children be ready for the weather and prepared for the walk back from the Festival site.  We will be taking a bus to our show at the Troupe du Jour on 20th and a bus to the site and then we will walk back to the school.

Children will need their back packs with healthy snacks and a lunch packed for the day.  Please also send a water bottle.  No dossier is needed but we will need appropriate clothing.  A sun hat is recommended and good walking shoes.  If at all possible please apply sunscreen and have some in your child’s backpack.  Please use your discretion if sending any money with your child.  While there are vendors there, having some children with money and some without can cause problems for the small group leaders and money can get lost.  If you choose to send money please keep it around 2$.  Your child must be responsible for this.  I do not encourage sending money, rather send some extra snacks.

We will be meeting in a large group to eat lunch together at a designated spot.  On the site children will be moving around in small groups with their parent volunteer.

We will have tags that have a phone number to call in case anyone gets separated.

*Because none of our students will be going home on a kindergarten bus ride at noon, rides and picks up must arranged for all children. If you would like to make another pick up plan please inform me.  For example, if you wish to arrange for older siblings to take your kindergarten child to the bus that they ride on, they must come and find me and tell me that they are there for their sibling.  I must also have this written in a note.  Please inform your bus driver as well if you are making this arrangement.  We will dismiss from the LRC because Ms. Ottenbreit’s class will be in the classroom.

Please note that the following day there will be no school for French Kindergarten because of the full day before.  No school Tuesday June 3rd for our students.

Visit to Fire Hall

What a great visit!  There was even an alarm and all was calm and efficient.  We were very proud of the kids;  they showed interest and maturity.  Bravo!  A special thanks to our parent volunteers.  If you joined us on any excursions and have photos please send them to me at: wallacej@spsd.sk.ca
Merci!

Le thé pour la fête des mères ~ Mother's Day Tea

Thursday May 8th, 2014

Chers parents,

We are looking forward to our Mother’s Day Tea and Crazy Hair Day, Friday May 9th.  Our students have worked very hard in preparing for this day and this program.  The program is short in length and there will be visiting over tea, lemonade and cookies.  There will also be a craft.  The time we have in the library will be about 45-60 minutes.  When you enter you may go into the LRC. Please find your name tag (it also has your child’s name on the tag) and you may sit at that spot.   We will enter as a class to do the formal part of the program shortly after 9:00am.  After the program the students will join you.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to come to this special day of appreciation!

*Thank you to the parents who volunteered on the trip to Frances Morrison for What is Art? in Pooh Corner.  We had a wonderful time and are grateful to our parent volunteers.
